Little Baby Grains works with medical professionals including medical doctors and nutritionists to select only the best and most appropriate grains for your little ones.
There are 3 main considerations - digestion, nutrition and heavy metal content. The grains are specially chosen based on their digestibility for your baby at different ages, required nutrition at each milestone and must not contain any heavy metals.
We understand that every baby is unique. Find the right grains for your baby's needs here!
BASIC uses a natural soft and fluffy grain, which is generally easily accepted by babies. This range is suitable for most babies and has 3 steps for each major developmental phase (6-9 months, 10-14 months and 15 months onwards). Choose BASIC if your baby is in the average or high weight percentile and has no issues in general.
The heirloom grains in the PREMIUM range are premium in nature as they are limited in production. These grains are naturally sweet tasting, being planted in the mountainous regions of Borneo without the use of pesticides. This range contains 5 steps as it focuses on a gentle approach to starting solids. Choose PREMIUM if your baby has had or is having issues such as colic, constipation, etc. or if you prefer a slower approach to starting solids.
This range is for ALL babies and aimed at helping Mummies maintain optimal health and nutrition for their respective babies. This range also helps with healthy weight gain for your babies. Each product is further targeted at addressing specific issues such as constipation, eczema, allergies, picky eater, colic, tummy upset and even preterm (premature) babies. Alternate this range with the grains from BASIC or PREMIUM range every 3-5 days for optimum nutrition
In line with our high standards of #onlythebest for your little one, our grains are tested in a SAMM-accredited laboratory to ensure no heavy metals are present.

Little Baby Grains uses organic and natural grains with a softer texture and high nutritional value. Our grains are specially selected in terms of quality and suitability for our little ones' delicate tummies. For instance, the premium, natural white rice which is used in Little Baby Grains' PREMIUM range has 1.5 times the amount of Vitamin B compared to average white rice. Vitamin B1 is known to play a fundamental role in energy metabolism. (Source: Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI)). Additionally, we have 3 different ranges - PREMIUM, BASIC and NUTRITIONIST FORMULATED to meet the comprehensive needs of our little ones!
The white and red rice in the PREMIUM range are premium in nature as they are naturally sweet tasting, being planted in the mountainous regions of Borneo without the use of pesticides. These grains are also limited in production. Additionally, the white rice is recognised as a good source of protein (Source: MARDI Publication, 2014).
The BASIC range uses natural medium grain white rice, which has a naturally sweet taste as well, and is fluffier. BASIC is also a more affordable option overall. Our BASIC range also allows your little one to consume the superfood quinoa before 1 year old, in the form of quinoa flakes! This means that your little one can now receive a good source of protein even at a young age, while ensuring that it is soft enough for him to chew and digest!
The NUTRITIONIST FORMULATED range is jointly formulated by a Certified Nutritionist together with our founder, who is a mother and Dr. Sears Certified Health Coach, to address issues commonly faced by Mummies, such as eczema, colic, constipation and babies who are premature or picky eaters!
If your baby is in the normal weight percentile and does not have any issues such as constipation, allergies, colic, etc. you can choose the GOLD Starter Kit.
If your baby is in the low weight percentile and has had or is having constipation, allergies, colic, etc., choose the PREMIUM Starter Kit.
Yes, our grains are certified Halal by JAKIM Malaysia
Yes, definitely! While the grains in the Nutritionist Formulated range are aimed at targeting specific conditions that your baby is facing, they are also good to be taken regularly / daily to maintain your baby's overall health. Nevertheless, the grains are not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always seek the advice of a doctor.
Nutritionally, each range has their respective strengths. For instance, Fresh Start has a higher quantity of dietary fibre compared to Let's Eat, whereas Let's Chew has a higher quantity of protein compared to Junior Nutri-Colour.
The grains are sourced both locally and overseas; from Malaysia, Vietnam, PRC and Bolivia.
Our organic certifications are owned by our importer. We are happy to share them with you upon request
No, it is important to consume the grains as PART of a balanced diet in order to obtain good overall nutrition. This means that a good diet of vegetables and protein is necessary in addition to our products.
Yes! Since the grains are generally more nutritious than our everyday white rice, it is certainly beneficial for your family to eat the same grains as your 1-year-old toddler. The combination of wholegrains is definitely a healthier choice than plain white rice.
Yes! Cooking instructions including the amount of water to use and the cooking duration are provided on the packaging. If you purchase the Starter Kits, each Kit comes with a set of 8 recipes (PREMIUM Starter Kits) and 9 recipes (GOLD Starter Kit).
Our grains can be cooked on a stovetop, in a slow cooker, rice cooker, or in any baby food processors, etc.
For 1 spoonful of the grains, add 3-4 spoons full of water into the pot to make rice. Add 1-2 more spoons full to make porridge instead. For grains that are high in fibre (such as red rice, quinoa and buckwheat), you can soak the grains for 15-30 minutes in water before cooking them. This will speed up the cooking time.
The following grains require soaking before cooking: - NUTRITIONIST FORMULATED Range: Fibre Glider - NUTRITIONIST FORMULATED Range: Iron Power - BASIC Range: Let's Nourish
For the other grains, soaking before cooking is optional.
If cooking the grains as rice instead of porridge, soaking is recommended to speed up the cooking process especially for Step 4 Nutri-Colour and Step 5 Q-Junior from the PREMIUM range, as well as Let's Nourish from the BASIC range.
Pureeing is recommended for ages 6-9 months. For 9 months and above, the grains are generally soft enough without the additional need for blending or milling. However, parents are advised to observe their babies' own development pace as some babies may require more assistance in chewing their solids. In such cases, it is recommended to puree the cooked grains together with their baby's vegetables, fruits or meat.
You can cook your baby's porridge in a slow cooker before going to bed the night before. Simply set the slow cooker mode to "Low" heat and let it cook overnight.
